The
Sprinter: The benchmark in its class
No
other van has set standards in its class as convincingly as the
Sprinter. Or as frequently. That's because the Sprinter makes a
point of concentrating on essentials, but without neglecting
thoughtful, practical features and ways of combining business with
pleasure.
Innovative
features like the powerful CDI engines bring benefits for fuel
economy, while safety too has been taken to new levels: the Sprinter
is the first van in which the front airbags are complemented by
optional windowbags, to provide protection in a side impact.
Not
least, you also benefit from the thoughtfully planned overall
concept of the Sprinter family. The chassis range opens up limitless
possibilities for creating application-specific solutions and
bodies. And now the 6-tonne version of the Sprinter is introducing
the Sprinter's agility and ride comfort into a new weight class, one
where every kilogram of payload counts. What's more, with
alternative-drive versions and fully operational future-design
studies the Sprinter concept is already being extended far into the
future.

MODELS

CREWBUS
The
Sprinter Crewbus: Comfort plus
Whether
you're transporting passengers or work teams to the job site,
whether your delivering social services or a sports team - a minivan
under 3.5t should be big on the inside and compact on the outside.
The Sprinter is an expert at pulling off this trick.
PANEL
VAN
The
Sprinter panel van and semi-window van: big on the inside and
compact on the outside
The
Sprinter is very compact on the outside. Inside though, its maximum
payload of around 2.5t makes it exceedingly generous. The space
furnished by the three different wheelbases is not what matters,
though. What does matter is, how that space can be used.
The
side walls of the Sprinter panel van rise straight up to the window.
The roof is slightly recessed. The nearly vertical side panels that
result allow you to make optimum use of the cargo area.
The
familiar Sprinter qualities, such as a high degree of safety,
outstanding comfort, reliability and economy, naturally also
distinguish the new model for the 6t category.
INTERIOR
An
interior built around the driver
All
controls in the Sprinter are arranged to help the driver concentrate
- not to get in the way.
The
cockpit design is based on the principle that the driver should be
able to locate the controls spontaneously rather than having to look
for them. All major components are clustered clearly, logically and
ergonomically so that you can practically find them blindfolded. The
handy joystick shift lever, for example, is built into the
instrument panel close to the driver, making long throws a thing of
the past. We've also made it easier to cross over to the passenger's
seat or to go in back.
Everything
needs a home. That's why we've provided lots of handy stowage
spaces:
-
between
the fronts seats there's an ashtray with a cup holder
-
there's
also a pen holder and a clipboard for paperwork
-
inside
the glove box there are two indentations to receive cans and
cups
-
there's
a holder in the glove-box lid for storage media in credit-card
format
The
anti-dazzle instrument cluster ensures you stay in control. Displays
and dials can be read accurately and easily, at a glance. Standard
functions include an electronic rev counter, a multi-functional
display and warnings lights for timing, engine oil and
windscreen-washer fluid level, just to name a few.
